Artists Statement
Generally my newer art is abstract paintings
in acrylic and other media. However I like working with just about
anything as illustrated by the beds of nails and the fountains
My art reflects my daily struggles, and
life’s pleasures, much like dreams. I prefer to sculpt and
create fountains however I don’t always have the space to
create many large pieces and I have found that textured acrylic
paintings can often fill that creative void.
In the last year I have found a new love
for creating textured paintings that have a sense of movement, similar
to fountains. Creating art is a great way for me to escape the stress
associated with working with intense people all the time during
my regular body modification job. I try to paint things that bring
a sense of peace and happiness to me and often reflect on how the
piece would make me feel if it was the only thing in a fully white
room.
There are some exceptions of course such
as “Dissolved in Anger” and “In the Depths of
Schizophrenia” (sculpture). I did however balance these chaotic
pieces with pleasant complimentary work almost immediately afterwards
through “Dissolved Anger” and “The Vision”.
In the future I hope to focus more on
my scarification work but I will continue to do create more traditional
art like what you see here. I might update this page in the future
with my photography and older drawings. Keep your eye out, you might
like them . BLAIR
