Media
interviews and photo ops can be quite fun for me and I consider
it a bit of an honour. There’s nothing nicer than seeing the
final product reflect my true words and opinions, although this
is rarely the case.
My two Globe and Mail articles would be fine examples of this sort
of media butchering. The first article is an opinion piece by the
author, they never interviewed me, despite putting my photo on the
front page. The second article managed to get most of the information
wrong even though we spoke (and took photos) for 3 hours. In the
end that articles uses a photo of Enigma and Katzen rather than
myself.
I’ve learned that ultimately this sort of re-interpretation
is just something that happens with the media and so while I hope
you enjoy these interviews please take them with a grain of salt.
